Aug 24, 2016 · My sons 2008 Polaris Outlaw 50 backfired. it now runs a little rough and continues to backfire occasionally. it also runs away some and now idles high. the idle mixture screw has no effect at all full open or closed. it also has pressure in the air-cleaner box. it was running great up to the point of the original backfire. sudden not degraded over time.

If it doesn't idle, but runs good, the issue is usually the throttle cable shut off switch. And reason is usually too loose throttle cable.
Jun 07, 2020 · Christmas present for my son, replaced polaris outlaw 50. Only problem was solved over phone with service department from dealership. Reverse indicator light wiring connector was grounding out causing reverse light to come on while in forward gear and rev limiter to kick in. Wire connector joint plastic protector had slid off connection.
My daughter's 2007 Polaris Outlaw 90 has a hot stall for the past several rides. It stalls out when its warm about 3-4 times per hour. It happens when she comes to a stop. I turned up the idle but it hasn't helped. I replaced the plug, the old one was black. I will drain the bowl in the near future. What else should I be checking?
make sure the air filter is clean if it is then take your carb off and clen out your main jet large brass jet in center of the bottom of the carb if that does not fix it adjust your air screw on side of carb brass flat head screw turn right until tight lightly not to hard just enough till it feels snug then start at one turn left and rev 2-3 times then go a 1/4 turn left at a time till the bike revs and runs well good luck
